We heartily congratulate Anne-Marie Condé on recently winning one of the Australian Society of Archivists' Mander Jones Awards for her paper, 'Imagining a collection: Creating Australia's records of war', published in vol. 2 no. 1 of reCollections.
The paper discusses three groups of archival records held by the Australian War Memorial: firstly, some records put to immediate use after the First World War for the writing of Australia's official war history; secondly, a collection of private records acquired by the Memorial in the 1920s and 1930s; and, lastly, a large quantity of administrative (as distinct from combat-related) records, acquired in 1931.
