Michael Piggott
From 1971 Michael Piggott worked for the National Library of Australia, the Australian War Memorial, the National Archives of Australia and the University of Melbourne. He began semi-retirement in 2008 as a Canberra-based archives consultant and independent scholar, taking up a fellowship with the Australian Prime Ministers Centre. He has postgraduate qualifications in librarianship, archives and history, and in 2011–12 was an associate of the National Museum of Australia’s Centre for Historical Research. He is currently completing a commissioned guide to Commonwealth records relating to Tasmania for the National Archives and his Archives and Societal Provenance: Australian Essays (Chandos Publishing) will appear later in 2012.
