Captain Cook's exploration medals

The South Australian Museum's Pacific Cultures Gallery proudly displays two medals associated with Captain James Cook's voyages to the Pacific. Both medals are now considered of major historical significance to Australia and yet, only 19 years ago, a collection of Cook medals drew almost no interest at auction.
