Angela Philp
Angela Philp completed her PhD at The Australian National University in 2006. Her thesis was titled 'Museums and the public sphere in Australia: Between rhetoric and practice' and explored expressions of the new museology and the ability to fully realise its aims. It included both the National Museum of Australia and the National Gallery of Australia as case studies.
She has worked in museums for many years, including the National Gallery, the Nolan Gallery, and the Canberra Museum and Gallery, where she was inaugural director. She has also taught art history and, more recently, contributed to the Australian National University Museums and Collections program.
