Ian McShane is a historian by training and has a background as a curator, heritage consultant and public sector manager. He was a member of the National Museum of Australia curatorial staff from 1990 to 2000. Ian's research interests and publications range across museums and cultural heritage, education, community infrastructure, and public policy. He is currently completing a PhD dissertation on local government community infrastructure at the Institute for Social Research, Swinburne University of Technology.
